We compare lots of the biggest auto transport companies, including:
We compare more than 20 best companies and select 4-6 that will match the most. We compare companies according to several factors, though the main ones are the price, license, and rating. Other factors considered are the type of trailer (open or enclosed), the size of the trailer, amount of the insurance coverage, experience (years in the transportation industry), closest dates available, possible discounts for military members, multiple car shipping, and regular shipping customers.
Our service is absolutely free. We do not charge anything for requesting a quote on our website. Moreover, most of the companies we work with are also transparent in the payment process. They do not require any kind of prepayment or do not charge the whole amount upfront. Usually, the payment with the top companies is divided into 2 parts: a partial deposit covering taxes, fees, and insurance is charged after the car is picked up, and then the rest you pay at the drop off directly to the driver. Some companies may also collect the total amount at the drop-off.
The companies we collaborate with have been in the transportation industry for more than a decade. They are licensed, experienced, and fully insured. We do care about our customers, so every company that wants to work with us is thoroughly checked using the FMCSA website. The insurance coverage of the companies we work with varies from $100 000 to $250 000 per vehicle on the trailer for open car haulers and for enclosed the insurance is always $250 000.
The time frame of the transportation always depends on mileage and type of the trailer you choose. Enclosed trailers usually transport vehicles faster as they only carry 3-5 cars at a time. For example, it takes only 5 days to transport the vehicle for the distance of 3000 mi. As for open trailers, drivers usually cover 400 miles per day. So for 400-800 miles it usually takes 2 days, for 900-1600 miles - 3-4 days, 1700-2500 - 5-6 days, 2500 and more - 7-9 days.
We can find a company to transport any kind of vehicle whether it is running or not. If your vehicle only has a battery issue, it can be jump-started and shipped by a regular carrier. If it has a more serious issue, the carrier company will decide whether it is possible to load the car with a winch or a forklift is needed to load it on and off the car hauler.
