Motorcycle shipping is very similar to the car shipping process, but still there are some differences. When you request a quote, providing your pick up and delivery zip-codes, contact details and year, make and model of the bike, we recommend you specify whether it’s a regular motorcycle, a sports bike, or a trike, for example, and whether it was modified in any way.
We collaborate with lots of motorcycle moving companies including enclosed carriers. Just choose an option when filling in the form that you need a quote for enclosed shipping and we will provide you with the rate for enclosed transportation.
After choosing a company your shipping agent will offer you carriers with specialized enclosed trailers.
Yes, it’s possible to ship such vehicles on a trailer, just add vehicle info to your quote. Besides that, we can also provide you with quotes for the transportation of lawn mower tractors, golf carts, forklifts, and other vehicles types.
When you sign the papers, book the spot and receive the driver’s details, it’s high time to get your motorcycle ready for shipping. Unlike with car shipping, it’s very easy to get your bike ready: simply make sure it’s clean and there are no parts that can fall apart and damage other bikes on the trailer. Once the driver arrives, give him the keys to the vehicle and sign the Bill of Lading after the driver checks the bike for any damages.
We advise you to negotiate the pick-up date at least a day before your flight as sometimes drivers may be running late because of delays at other pick-up points, unexpected weather conditions, or traffic jams. In case it happens, you can leave the bike to your friend, relative, colleague, or neighbor who can release it to the driver.
The carriers we work with are all rather experienced and fully insured. But you can also ask the driver to provide you with his MC number and check the insurance details on the FMCSA website.
When you receive your motorcycle at the delivery address, pay the driver and don’t forget to check the vehicle for any new damages. In case you notice something, write it down in the Bill of lading and contact your shipping company. Your shipping manager will help you submit a claim to the carrier's insurance company.
We advise you to try and submit a claim to the insurance company, but usually, if the damage wasn’t noted in the Bill of lading at the time of the drop-off, the claim is rejected. That is why we recommend checking the vehicles thoroughly when they are delivered.
Yes, it’s possible as long as the carrier is aware of that in advance and the person can pay the driver (unless the driver was paid upfront).
