When you are planning to move the car, of course first of all you need to know how much it is going to cost you. The best way to find out the rate is to request a quote at Compare The Carrier. We will provide you with the shipping cost from top US transport companies and you will choose the best option for you.
To request and book the shipping you only need to provide your pick up and delivery zip-codes, year, make and model of the car, your name, phone number, and email, so we could send you the detailed quote.
Yes, we work with lots of carriers specializing in the transportation of inoperable vehicles. Simply mark your vehicle as inoperable in a quote form and you'll get rates for shipping non-running cars. Then tell your shipping agent what exactly is wrong with a car, so the company will send you the driver with the required equipment on the trailer.
Some carriers allow you to put no more than 200 lbs in the trunk or in the backseat below window level. We recommend you pack the items properly and secure them, so they won’t damage the passenger compartment. In case it’s damaged the carrier’s insurance will not cover it.
After you book the shipping and negotiate the pick up day and time with the driver, you need to get your car ready for transportation. First of all make sure there are no personal items inside the car (unless you plan to ship them), remove all passes, tags, and plates, and clean your vehicle, so the driver could see any pre-existing damages and note them down in the Bill Of Lading.
Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to ship a bike on the same trailer as a car since regular double-deck car haulers are designed for four-wheel vehicles of an exact width. But if your car is transported in an enclosed trailer or on a flatbed, the bike can be put on a special shipping crate and transported on the same trailer.
Unfortunately, carriers rarely offer such an option, as it will affect the shipping cost and not everyone is ready to pay extra for it.
But your broker easily can contact the carrier and provide you with your vehicle location.
When the driver is about to deliver your car, he will call you to negotiate the exact time. Once he arrives and loads the car off the trailer, pay him the remaining balance, and don’t forget to check the car for any damages. We also advise you to leave a review to the shipping company as feedback always helps other customers choose the best car shipping company.
Usually, payment is divided into 2 parts: a partial deposit is charged after you book the shipment or your car is picked up and the remaining balance is paid with cash, money order, cashier’s check, or company check at the drop-off. Some drivers may also accept Zelle or Paypal.
In case you notice any new damages after the car was delivered, note them down in the Bill of lading and take some photos. Then contact your shipping agent and he will help you submit a claim to the carrier's insurance company.
